Sharing Our Love of Flight at 2026 Career and Aviation Expos

Some of the best conversations about flight training happen on the ground. This year, Safety In Motion Flight Center took our love of aviation on the road, meeting students, families, career-changers, and fellow aviation enthusiasts at events across the Puget Sound region.

Every handshake is a chance to answer a question, share what flying means to us, and help someone picture their own path into the skies.

2026 Kent Career Expo

Hosted by the City of Kent at the accesso ShoWare Center, the Kent Career Expo connects high school students with aerospace and advanced manufacturing employers, colleges, and training programs. It's an ideal place to show students that a pilot certificate can lead to many careers, from flight instructing and charter flying to the airlines.

Our team set up a table on the arena floor at the accesso ShoWare Center, alongside aerospace employers, airlines, and military recruiters. Visitors could flip through sectional charts and the FAR/AIM, see how we use our Advanced Aviation Training Device (AATD) in flight training, and ask how a Private Pilot certificate builds toward Instrument, Commercial, and Certified Flight Instructor ratings. We also shared how our partnerships with Green River College and the Horizon/Alaska Airlines Pilot Development Program support students with long-term career goals.

Pathways to Success at The Museum of Flight

Few places capture the excitement of flight like The Museum of Flight in Seattle. Safety In Motion Flight Center attended the second annual Pathways to Success: Your Future in Aerospace & Aeronautics on October 15, 2026. An event that brings together more than 40 airlines, colleges, manufacturers, and aviation organizations to help students explore careers across the aerospace industry.

Our booth sat beneath a mural of Mount Rainier, a fitting backdrop for a Pacific Northwest flight school. Several familiar names shared the floor with us, including Green River College, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, Horizon Air, and Alaska Airlines, all part of the pathway our students. Learn more about the colleges and affiliations we work with.

Why We Show Up

Many of our students first met us at an event like these. Being active in the community lets us meet future pilots where they are, answer questions face-to-face, and welcome new students before their first lesson. It's also a chance to celebrate the pilots who came before them. Visit our Student Achievements page to see recent solos, checkrides, and new certificates.

What People Asked Us Most

  • How do I get started? Most pilots begin with a Private Pilot certificate. Learn what's involved on our Private Pilot page.

  • What will it cost? Training is pay-as-you-go, and our custom Cost Calculator estimates your total based on how often you fly. Financial aid options are available through our college and university affiliations.

  • Do you work with veterans? Yes. As a VA-approved, FAA-approved Part 141 Flight School, we support GI Bill® benefits and veteran funding. Our Chief Flight Instructor and many of our senior instructors and mechanics are veterans themselves.

  • Can this become a career? Our Part 141 programs run from Private Pilot through Airline Transport Pilot, including Instrument, Multi-engine, and Flight Instructor ratings. Learn more about Pilot Training here.
